Verzeichnis der arabischen Handschriften in der Bibliothek der Deutschen Morgenländischen Gesellschaft (DMG)*
Hans Wehr promoted Arabic Studies worldwide with his “A Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic “. In 1940, he compiled this overview of the holdings of historical manuscripts of the DMG. These documents are still part of the society’s collection.
The small catalogue has now been digitized for our open access repository MENAdoc and is available here.
Today, Wehr’s recorded manuscripts are kept by the University and State Library Saxony-Anhalt. You can study them for research purposes in the reading room for historical holdings and maps. The room has been extensively restored and modernized this year and offers a wonderful working atmosphere.
