The World Religion Database (WRD) contains detailed statistics on religious affiliation for every country in the world. It provides source material, including censuses and surveys, as well as optimised estimates for each religion to provide a comprehensive picture of international religious demographics.
It provides best estimates at multiple points in time for each of the world's religions for the period from 1900 to 2050. The WRD is constantly updated with new data sources as they become available, such as estimates of religious affiliation at the provincial level within countries and information on religious freedom for all countries.
Access was available to members of the institutions of our user group available until 1 April 2021. This was a cooperation with the FID Religious Studies.
