Armenology is the study of Armenian history and writing culture. It is closely related to Christian Oriental Studies.

The subject relies on the study of philological aspects of the language development in Ancient Armenian, Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian as well as the Armenian religious, historical and geographical literature, poetry and prose.
