Istanbul Urban Layers

Unter dem Titel Istanbul Urban Layers wurde ein Digital Humanities-Projekt von Nil Tuzcu und der Harvard Mellon Urban Initiative veröffentlicht. Es ermöglicht den direkten Vergleich verschiedener Karten und Luftaufnahmen von Istanbul über einen Zeitraum von derzeit 1853-1989. Das Projekt befindet sich in stetiger Weiterentwicklung, ist also einen regelmäßigen Blick durchaus wert.

Salonica: a multi-cultural city in the Ottoman Empire and the Greek state between the World Wars

Das Van Leer Jerusalem Institute hält vom 22.-23. Mai 2017 eine Konferenz zum Thema ‚Salonica: a multi-cultural city in the Ottoman Empire and the Greek state between the World Wars‚ ab. Der Call for Papers ist bis zum 31. Oktober 2016 offen. (Call for Papers auf MENALIB)
